Service 01 — Trade Mark Watching

Know the moment someone files too close to your mark.

Registering your brand is only the first step in a successful IP strategy. The register changes every single day — watching it is how you keep your exclusivity.

What is a trade mark watch?

We use artificial intelligence software to scan the UK Trade Marks Register daily, identifying new applications that are identical or similar to your registered mark — each one reviewed by an attorney, not just an algorithm.

Why should I get one?

So you can maintain the exclusivity of your mark. If another party registers a trade mark similar to yours, your brand's distinctiveness — and its value — is diluted. A watch lets you oppose conflicting applications before they're registered, when it's cheapest and easiest to win.

What do I get?

Alerts when a conflicting mark is filed, plain-English advice on how serious the threat is, and clear recommendations on your next move — from a polite warning letter to a formal opposition.

Beyond the UK

Expanding abroad? We can watch the UK, EU or worldwide registers — priced per mark, so you only pay for the coverage you actually need.

10yrs

A UK trade mark can last forever — but it must be renewed every 10 years.

Service 02 — Trade Mark Renewals

Forever is possible. Renewal is required.

Miss a renewal deadline and the registration you fought for can lapse — leaving your brand unprotected and up for grabs. We make sure that never happens.

Purchased one of our professional filing packages? Renewal reminders are already included — we'll contact you well before every deadline.

Not an existing client, or filed the mark yourself? We're happy to take over: we'll diarise your deadlines, handle the renewal paperwork with the UKIPO, and confirm your mark is secured for the next decade.

What are IP aftercare services?

IP aftercare is everything that keeps a registered trade mark protected after registration. At Neo Percept IP this covers trade mark watching — daily monitoring of the UK Trade Marks Register from £550 per year (up to 3 classes included) to catch conflicting applications early — and trade mark renewals, which are required every 10 years to keep a UK trade mark in force. Both services are delivered for fixed fees by a UK Chartered Trade Mark Attorney regulated by IPReg.

Common questions

Aftercare, answered.

What is a trade mark watch?

A monitoring service that scans the UK Trade Marks Register every day for new applications that are identical or similar to your registered mark. You get an alert plus attorney advice, in time to oppose the conflicting application before it registers.

How much does a trade mark watch cost?

From £550 per mark for one year, with up to 3 classes included — inclusive of third-party provider fees and our professional fee. UK, EU and worldwide coverage is available.

How often does a UK trade mark need renewing?

Every 10 years. There's no limit to how many times you can renew — a trade mark can genuinely last forever — but a missed deadline can mean losing the registration entirely.

What if I haven't used my trade mark yet?

Use it or lose it: once your trade mark has been registered for 5 years in the UK, a third party can demand proof that you're using it for the goods and services in your registration. Unused marks — or unused classes — can be revoked, so it pays to review how you're actually using your mark.

Your brand is registered. Now keep it yours.
